Welcome Phil ,
The flap stays angled pretty much all the time. The only time not to
use it is to depower. WN1 was the first small sized wing I made . I
felt it would be much easier for others to build a constant chord
wing. WN1 was originally 12' tall then I went to 14'. The boat in the
drawings is a little longer and taller but the same square footage.I
think the 14'' wing was about 65 lbs. I gps WN1 in the high 60's. On
the new boat I have made new wing section like WN2 that work better
than WN1.The performance should improve.

The main wing can range from 15 to to 5 degrees at speed. I usually run 20 to 30 degrees of flap .Less if its blowing hard. We have found a chain and sprocket...
