I have not heard of Lake Carnico, but glad to hear that you get some
good conditions there. Patoka Lake in Southern Indiana is my favorite
place but the 70 minute drive makes a pretty full day to get some good
time on the water.
The Land Between the Lakes area is amazing. Kentucky Lake and Lake
Barkley are so large, that any direction is great wind, but the launch
site may differ depending on the wind direction. Your launch site may
also be determined by how much you want waves. If the wind blows hard
out of the south, you can get 4 foot rollers on the north end of
kentucky Lake. We had a windsurfing weekend on those two lakes last
October, and I would like to make it an annual gig.
Since my wife and I still have family Paducah, I sail there quite a few
times throughout the year, and would gladly share some local knowledge
of that area.
What equipment do you use?
