Remnants of Hurricane Katrina are heading our way. I plan to go to
Patoka Lake tomorrow (Tuesday) for the day. I plan to arrive there
around 12 noon (Louisville time) and sail the afternoon.
The forecast at this time says 15 MPH gusting to 26 for the afternoon
with possible thunderstorms. I won't sail in lightning, but I have no
problem with rain.
Q. Would anyone else like to join me?
The wind will be from the North, so Jackson Ramp will be a bit tricky.
I may try launching from the small parking area that juts out from the
road that goes from the beach to Jackson's Ramp. This is the main road
that passes several boat ramps and crosses several inlets of the lake.
I just can't remember the highway number at this time.
Q. Has anyone tried this launch spot before, and is it suitable.

I hope someone was able to enjoy the wind this past weekend.
