Wow!
Yesterday (Saturday April 30th) was a great day on Patoka Lake in
Indiana. It began as a dreary day, with light winds, but at 11:30
(non-Daylight Savings Time), the sun popped out. The wind was O.K., but
not great at first. Then a few gusts came through to pop our boards on
a plane. At 12:25, the gusts kicked in and it did well. There were a
few gusts that would take you all the way across the lake on a plane.
Most of us were using 7.5 m sails. There were a total of 5 of us
sailing, 6 if you count Jesenko who was there earlier, but had to leave
before anyone else was in the water. I am sorry that Jesenko had to
miss the good winds that blew in after he left.
It was so great to be out there with that many sailors. I had to hit
the shore at 2:00 (EST) to head for home, but I'm sure it only got
better. I was not able to go sailing today (Sunday), but, it looked
like an excellent day. Did anyone get to hit the water?
