Sam,
Yes there are a few of us. Very few.In Lex. itself there is Jacobson Lake on
Richmond Rd.
You can sail it , but not one of your top spots. Some days it can be good there.
Lake Carnico in Carlisle is probably the best, closest place. The wind needs to
be SW or W, which is our prevailing wind pattern. That gives it a fairly clean
blow over the dam there. It is about a 45 min. drive. Cave run is about an hour.
It can be really flukey. Some days it can hit real good there and some it does
not. It is surrounded by hills. If the forecast is for west wind, Louisville at
Coxs Park on the river is the best. I am self-employed and if the forecast for
wind is for 20mph or above I for the most part go sailing.
Always hoping for wind,
Bill

I live in Columbus, OH and have been windsurfing since 1992. My wife and I met
at EKU and lived in Danville before moving to Columbus 20 years ago. We're
thinking about moving back to the Lexington area. I definitely want to continue
windsurfing but don't know if there is anyplace to do it there.
Does anyone windsurf in Lexington or somewhere nearby?
Sam
