Downings FUN Event, 14 and
15th July
If its fun you are after, Downing is THE place.
Nick Fletcher and his team in Downings always offer the most
memorable welcome to windsurfers and their families in this marvellous holiday
location.
Ages will range from seven to seventy and there will be
something for everyone. The "big boys" will battle it out in
the Gold Fleet well offshore and the Fun fleet and Juniors will fill every
square metre of the beautiful bay all the way into the shore.
Where they get all the prizes from is only one of the
mysteries this weekend! How they manage to make such a contribution to
the RNLI after this event every year is NOT a mystery - it is all down to hard
work and the generosity of the windsurfing community.
Sat and Sun 14 & 15 July are the dates!
WOWI
Course has been arranged. More details to follow.

YOUR Sail Number? – “Renew it
or Lose It” After 14th July
Last year the association made great strides in terms of
registered members. It is NOT a coincidence that our requests for Grant
Aid were well received. The membership growth continues. We have
set ourselves the very ambitious target of another 100% plus increase in
memberships this year. We are on the way to becoming a credible sporting
association – not just the FEW. If we want windsurfing to be taken
seriously, we need a presence in terms of membership. Fill up the Registration
Form NOW – bang it off!
It has been the policy in recent years that we will
“hold” a Sail Number if a registration is not renewed for one
year. The committee has now decided that any Sail Number that is not
allocated to a Registered Member on 14 July will be “free” to be
allocated to any new member.
So, folks, after 14 July, if a Sail Number
is not on the website
as being allocated to a Registered Member, it will be
“available”. (If you are not sure whether or not
you registered for 2007, check out the list of currently registered members on
the IWA website – LINK.)
