Yes, I think that they do. For wave use, they're the way to go. They do tend to cost more, but will last for far longer. I use Powerex RDM masts, and my Ezzy...

The only problem I have found with RDM is that if you drop it it does not have very much buoyancy and if it is sunk it is harder to get it back to the surface....
