hi peeps,
i started kitesurfing earlier this year and the directional i have
no longer cuts the mustard, so i read lots of forums and sites about
setting about making a twin tip when sumone suggested a mutant
instead ! as i'm still learning and i thought i should make it nice
an wide and as bouyant as possible to help me up,
can anynoe tell me if this idea would work ?..
in imperial i'm 10 stone ish lol and 5'10"
140 x 40 simetrical twin tip style but with footstraps offset to the
tail end and larger fins there too as on a mutant, and with more
rocker at the tip than the tail.
the base 3 bich ply
the core.. a sandwich of balsa sheets 75mmX910 (should i use epoxy
to make the core, or something to let the balsa flex more ..i.e wood
glue / pva ?) built up to 1400 x 400 x 10 mm and shaped like a
normal foam core...stuck to the base with epoxy.
two layers of 6oz glass on the top
and a layer of carbon on the bottom.
i plan to borrow a spare fin to make a mould ,from which to cast the
fins out of resin, i thought about making them in a vacuum as with
the board but money is tight an i'm not sure it would be worthwhile
makin a proper rocker table an vacuum set up for my first board so
i'm gonna hand lay up.
any thoughts or help with my design would be much appreciated
many thanks,
Tony.
