I'm in south london (Sutton) got a spare Neil Pryde 4wd 4.0m...
sailworks 5.9m...... 490 ART mast + quiver bag.
The older boards tend to weigh a lot, but are built to last. The
mastfoot is the only real problem, classic finboxes also tend to seep
water in over time, but getting a classic fin is easyish.
Depending on the era of the board, the mastfoot may or may not be a
north fitting.. or some weird proprietary thing. If it's weird and
proprietary (like my old Klepper 320) Windsurfing Worcester are good for
old spares.
As the other guys mentioned... old sails are quite probably the worst
part of old kit. Tie on booms are a safety risk (if they snap and you
are a beginner out in the ocean...).. old masts tend to delaminate
causing fibrous finger-syndrome (ouch) and old sails tend to contain
lots of water-absorbant materials as well as not holding shape.
Basically give it a few days on the older kit and you are likely to give
up the fantastic sport of windsurfing before too long.
aloha,
Mike
