Hello Wildwater,
Plans are well-advanced for the New England Triple-Crown on the
Tariffvill gorge, Farmington River, CT. The village of Tariffville &
town of Simsbury are pitching in with fundraising, permits, parking,
sponsors, etc. We have a slalom crew that's well experienced in
running NESS races to head up the slalom, and an experienced freestyle
judge (and competitor!--Jimmy Blakeney) to chair the freestyle. Guess
what event we can't find a chairman for?
Anyone interested in running the wildwater sprint event, please let me
know. There will be two race runs first thing Saturday morning, and a
single final run Sunday late morning. All permits, permissions,
parking, registration, insurance, bibs, etc. will be taken care of by
the rest of the organization; all the wildwater chair will have to do
is to run the wildwater race itself: timing, start, finish, final
transport arrangements (we have a lead on van and trailers). We want,
but do not require, to have racers start in matched pairs or trios,
and also timed to give the overall ranking.
An event description is attached, for more details.
Regards,
Jamie McEwan
