championships on the CT and White Rivers in Vermont this weekend.

Memorial Day Weekend May 24th, 25th and 26th
Upper Valley Freestyle Series Whitewater Rodeo
The Upper Valley Freestyle Series is a whitewater rodeo competition
for paddlers of all skill levels. It will give paddlers from the
Northeast a unique chance to show off their best moves in a low-key,
relaxed, and fun competition. The competition will be free to all!
The World Kayak Throwdown is a series of FUN events aimed at friendly
competition on rivers across the globe. Judging is fun, rules are
easy and prizes are only given out for participation... we draw names
from a hat! Registration will be Sunday from 12:30 - 1:30 with the
competition beginning at 2:00. Prizes are awarded after each
competition through a raffle in which all participants and volunteers
are eligible.

Sunday Downriver Sprints
The Sunday Kayak sprints will be individual timed runs through the
Sumner Falls rapid on the CT River in Hartland. Registration will be
from 12:30 – 2:30 at Sumner Falls Recreation area with races starting
immediately after the Upper Valley Freestyle Series Whitewater Rodeo.
There will be a barbeque and awards to follow as well as vendor
displays.

Monday Downriver Race
The downriver race will use a 6 1/2 mile class II stretch of the
White River from Sharon to the West Hartford Bridge in Hartford VT.
The classic race will offer a mass start for all classes.
Registration Sunday at Sumners Falls or Monday morning from 8:30
10:00 at Still River Outfitters, 36 Park Rd Windsor VT. The race will
begin at 11:00 and awards will follow immediately at Still River
Outfitters.

Downriver and Sprint Championship Classes: Men's and Women's K-1 long
(over 13'2") and K-1 Short (13'2" and under)
Recreational Canoe and Kayak Classes: Men's and Women's Shorty Kayak
(10' and under) OC – 1, OC – 2 Men's, Women's and Mixed.
