little james put the smack down on everyone sunday at the pmra drags
with that ancient 750 suzuki! yep, a little kid on a beat up yella
bike. all he needed to complete the picture was a a playing card in
the spokes and a lemonade stand! congrats james!
but on the other hand, we (bernie, bryan, me) never shoulda got him
started. and bj is gonna be tough too. gonna add a bar and a slick
to his 1300 and walk away with the points (at least second place).
now, my two cents worth on the future of the bike class at wir. i
just poked a little fun at 'em. guys like james and bj. open to
suggestions, ask for help when they need it and accept it when its
given. willing to lend a hand, unload a bike, stuff like that.
along with being nice guys, they are open to new technology. (that
little brown box and a button on the left if you have to ask).
the future of the bike class rests on the regular racers, guys like
bj, james, bryan, bernie, not the one run wonders who "have their own
opinion", the street racers who wanna hot lap till the cops take a
donut break around nine, the fair weather racers who if they don't
have anything better to do will go race. given enough time, i betcha
a bunch of new racers start to show up, guys who wanna race and are
not afraid to change with the times. shoot, i scrapped out a whole
bike and bought another to race this year. the old one just wasn't
cutting it, so i went metric. and added a box, a two step, button
launch, slick, wheelie bars, etc., etc. to boot.
as a matter of fact, a bunch of new racers have been showing up and
have been competitive. three kz's in new paint, didn't enter points
but show up to race none the less.
street racers don't wanna race a wheelie bar bike? how 'bout this?
i don't wanna race a punk riding mommies money.
well, my two cents stretched to a buck and a half, but so what.
toodles.
p.s. i hadta add the "opinion" thingie to see if he really was gonna
stay outta the forum for good, or just peek in every now and then to
see if someone was talking about him.
