Hello everyone,
If you've pitched horseshoes anytime in the past 20+ years, most likely you know or have pitched against Hank Zeisse.
He was admitted to the hospital last week to try to take care of the pneumonia he's been fighting. He was released this past Sunday and is at home with his caretaker, Bonnie. However, he is very weak, and we're not sure how much time he has left.
He is still quite sharp, even at 93 and ill. His wife, Myra, who passed 5 years ago, had kept a whole box of horseshoe "stuff" for him - old round robin cards, newsletters, Newslines, World and State Tournament booklets, etc. We had a good time together going through it, remembering the good times.
If you'd like to send a little cheer his way, consider sending him a card or a note. His hearing has gotten pretty bad, so he does not talk on the phone anymore.
His address:
Hank Zeisse
8033 S 27th St
Franklin, WI 53132
If you're thinking of visiting, please call his caretaker Bonnie first, to let her know: 414-761-0312.
Sincerely,
Pam Aiken
