Re: [whpa_bulletin] Ralph Maylahn has passed away

I agree. I wish we had known about it too. My dad talked to his wife this morning, and she said that Ralph had been doing better. He had been in a wheelchair because of his heart problem, but the week before he died he was doing better and starting to use his walker again. Then on Monday the 10th his heart just gave out.

His funeral was up north near Eau Claire, so I don't think there was a service here in town. If my dad hadn't been at church this weekend, we still wouldn't know.
The obit from the funeral home:

Ralph P. Maylahn age 88 of Mukwonago, formerly of Genesee Depot Died: Monday December 10, 2007 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in Waukesha. Ralph was born September 29, 1919 in Milwaukee. He was the son of Paul and May (Kolbe) Maylahn. Ralph was born and raised in Milwaukee. Ralph served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, serving most of his deployment in Egypt. He married Helen Lutzen July 4, 1966 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk Mound. After marriage they lived in the Milwaukee area the rest of his life. Ralph worked as an Auditor for Employers Insurance Company of Wausau until he retired. Ralph enjoyed playing horseshoes, and was a past state champion. Ralph is survived by his wife, Helen of Mukwonago; a son Andrew of Milwaukee. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday December 14, 2007 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Rev. Victor Inbaraj officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

That is sad news. Even more so that we did not know about it in time to attend. He will be missed by all.
