EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. -- Patrick H. "Pat" Spahn, 51, of Dry Hollow Road, Kieler, Wis., formerly of East Dubuque, was pronounced dead at 7:18 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, as a result of injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident on Airport Road in Smelzer Township, near Platteville, Wis.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Dubuque, with the Rev. James Parker officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the church by members of the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau, Wis. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, where there will be a parish rosary and scripture service at 4 p.m. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
He was born on Dec. 11, 1955, in Dubuque, son of Henry "Hank" and Irma (Fleege) Spahn. He married Pamela L. Lindauer on Oct. 25, 1980, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Montfort, Wis.
He was a 1973 graduate of East Dubuque High School.
He served in the Marines from 1973 to 1977 and held the rank of sergeant.
Mr. Spahn was a computer technician. He formerly worked for NCR at John Deere Dubuque Works, Computer Vision in Wausau, and most recently at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. He and his wife also owned and operated Rustic Camp Ground in Kieler.
He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseshoes.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela L. (Lindauer) Spahn; a daughter, Harmony (Paul) Stencil, of Sun Prairie, Wis.; a son, Michael (Veronica Hendrich) Spahn, of Wausau; his parents, Henry "Hank" and Irma (Fleege) Spahn, of East Dubuque; a brother, Steven (Judy) Spahn, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; two sisters, Cindy (Brett) Westphal, of Birchwood, Wis., and Chris (Scott) Millius, of Vinton, Iowa; and his mother-in-law, LaVaughn "Toddy" Lindauer, of Dodgeville, Wis.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Spahn; and his father-in-law, Alan "Shorty" Lindauer.
In lieu of flowers, a Patrick "Pat" Spahn Memorial Fund has been established.
