Dear All
Could we please kick the VP secretary into action. Getting a VP letter out in
time to get the Chritmas Dinner well advertised. So I don't have to speak to
you young people all night.
Otherwise can I have a seat next to Tom Feehally ( who is quite old)
Dr President Carl
I hope everyone is well. There are two socials coming up
very soon:
Athletics Union @ Coliseum (Wednesday 25th
November 2009)
If you don’t know already, it’s our AU next
Wednesday.
Get your housemates and friends to get involved, we want a
big turnout this semester.
We will be selling tickets around Fallowfield on the day for
£5.
You can reach me on 07763621945 if you want to try and shotgun
a batch of tickets, or speak to a member of the committee.
Email in some ideas for themes and we’ll see if we can
get Adam Gooch and Matt Tang in dresses.
MUACCC Christmas Dinner @ The Didsbury (Saturday
12th December 2009)
Our annual Christmas dinner will be held at The Didsbury pub
and is a superb 3 course feast for £20.
Meeting at 6:00pm in the pub and eating at 6:30pm followed
by the captains’ speeches, we will then head out to one of Manchester
many fine establishments where Dave Hulse will dance everyone off the floor and
one of the Normans will get into a fight.
The menu is attached to this email; please return to a
committee member by the 27th November at the very latest.
Circuit Paul told me that he's really annoyed because somebody changed the
password of his account.

For your information, the 'famous actor' I saw at the bar in Bennett's (but was too scared to talk to) was Oliver Chris. No doubt he was taking a breather before he played the Tom Cruise character in Rain Man- in the king's theatre right next door. Still don't believe me?

I thought we all ran pretty well. Our times are much the same as last year despite the course being a mudbath. A notable improvement is Tang. At 47ish minutes last year he has improved to 41 this year.
Overall the weekend was another success (apart from the kool kidz bus missing the kfc on the way back)
kevin, i expected better from you! (well maybe not)
A drunken/ sober women would just think 2 men fighting was either stupid or amusing to watch. im thinking more amusing in this particular case.
Men just accuse women of being complex because they cant work stuff out for themselves.
I suggest targeting the drunkest girl around instead of fighting.... but i dont need to tell you this kev!

Alehouse colours are orange (see: http://www.umaccc.com/alehouse.php). On the night out you are expected to wear orange at all times. The more orange you wear the more street cred you will win. Last year we had 40 odd people dressed in orange boiler suits so we have a lot to live up to. See attached pics. Head to Primark/H&M/TKMax etc and get anything orange you can.
A quick summary of the weekends activities:
Friday go out for something to eat and maybe a drink or two in Edinburgh. Saturday: hunt down breakfast, head to the race about midday, dominate the racing, have a shower etc, go out the the ceilidh, beer racing, win beer racing, sing, celebrate, kebab, go home. Wake up Sunday morning, early run to stretch the legs, head back to manc.

lets just stick to chunder mile lite. i.e. saucepan race, we could probably do a novelty indoor assault course version if its raining and start with a 'washing machine special' blend shot.
Also Gareth, the basis of the meat shot is of course;
1/4 blender of the last round of shots
1 tin of baked beans with sausages in
1 to 2 tins of tuna
1 tin of mackerel
any meat in the fridge
1/4 blender of whatever else you can get your hands on (the most expensive foods usually work well)
1/4 blender of vodka
finally you must remember to add 'essence of mop'!
Delish.

We've got Neil Bullock, Pete Davis and Josh Hands staying at ours. Can anyone accommodate Phil Johnstone? Pete's bringing a spare shell suit if anyone needs one.
By the way, can anyone remember the recipe for meat shots?

I've got confirmation from about 20 alehouse that they're coming. Who's bringing the yard glass? Remember, bring enough beer for the winner stays on beer racing (i havent done that in aaages).
Just a reminder that the 1980s party is THIS FRIDAY, 13th November! We're really looking forward to seeing you all, and your costumes (it sounds like there are going to be some amazing ones)!
Food and some drinks will be provided, but please do also bring your own drinks, just to make sure you get a) a drink you like, and b) enough of the drinks you like.
If you have any 80s music on CD, please bring it (no Stock/Aitken/ Waterman please!!!).
We have prizes for best male, best female, and best group fancy dress, and also a prize for the winner of the 1980s-style challenge (to be revealed at the party.
Ring/text/pm me or Andy if you need the address.

Ran the trial race for this today, The
course is medium – fast, very flat. Was quite badly signposted today but
hopefully they’ll improve it for Saturday.
They’ve asked for some volunteers to
marshal / lead the race each week. No excuse if you’re not going to
Edinburgh this week!

Hi
I thought that this event maybe of interest to the
athletics and cross country club.
We are looking for volunteers to help man the event
(every Saturday during term time) and people to take part in the run.
I would be really grateful if you could email the
members of your club with the details.
Please send any enquiries regarding volunteering at
the event to health.fitness@manchester.ac.uk
Kind Regards
Sheryl
