Good questions Shane.
1. We'll break them into Men / Women / Under-16 (or Juniors, whatever they want to be called) if we get enough people from those divisions. We can list them that way on the leaderboard so people can see where they rank with their peers, sure. And if there are enough women at a race to have a totally separate category, great! Then women / youth can clean up in points and prizes. We will play it by ear - for now it's going to be everybody competing against everybody, but if the ladies and the young guns come out in force, we'll have to reevaluate things. That would be a great issue to have to address! Realistically though at this point I think it's easiest to combine everyone together.
2. Surf contest judges can't compete in that contest, obviously, and we'll make sure they are as neutral as possible. The other races are pretty straightforward and will either be at a festival or have official timekeepers etc so that won't be an issue either. Rules will be set as will judges / timekeepers, so everyone will know what to expect when they show up.
