Thanks for getting that started Liz! There's a couple dates that need to be changed though, especially the September ones. The end-of-the-year festival in Charlotte is the 13th and 14th, and GauleyFest is the next weekend, the 19th-21st.
We've got the riverboarding-specific calendar up on Face Level , so check that out for a lot of great events. There's two in particular that you should consider traveling to:
1. Gorge Games, July 17-20, in Hood River Oregon. Riverboarding will be a featured event and this will be televised nationally. Press conferences for this event are Thursday, March 6th in Portland and Hood River, I'll be able to post the details after that.
2. The US National Whitewater Center's festival in September, where we'll be having our final "Championship Weekend" and will crown the winner for the whole competition season. They're expecting at least 10,000 people that weekend, so it'll be a great atmosphere to compete with the best!
So if nothing else I hope to see you all at those two events. Again, they're all posted on Face Level along with all the info about how it's all going to work.
We'll add more events if possible, just need a minimum of 8 boarders and there are some river-criterion that we want to adhere to in order to keep it competitive. You can contact me with questions (971.570.9006).
Liz, if any of the other festivals that you listed generally have a decent turnout of boarders, let's see if we can get something going at those places too!
Looking forward to seeing you all on the river this year. Go easy on me though, I'm getting old. ;-p
