yep only a few more weeks before i head up to maine to guide the dead,
kennebec and penobscot rivers for the summer. ive been looking at the
penobscot for the past two years wondering if i should go for it on my
board. i think the only reason i havnt so far is because all i have is
a bodyboard = low floatation. but it is a great run with two class
fives up at the top of the run several class three and a few fours
including the best feature on the river that i have run several times
with different lines, nesowednehunk falls. it is basically a big
playground river wide horse-shoe shapped waterfall. but if anyone is
in the region this summer and is ready to charge i think we should do
it, especially with a good crew of boarders. i have guided the penob
alot so i am very familiar with the hazards and the lines so i would
feel comfortable guiding some ppl down even though i havnt run it
myself, i just got to get my hands on a higher float board, i mean i
have looked at it alot and i think i could make it on my sponge but i
just dont want to obliterate my legs on that pink katahdin granite =
extra sharp. well check it out on american whitewater here is the link
