I've taken out tons of newbies while ww kayaking and while mostly you have
good trips sometimes it can be harrowing to say the least! One lady screamed
her way down a class 2 rapid after bailing out of her boat (and after
assuring me repeatedly that she LOVED the water, LOVED the ocean, LOVED to
body surf, and LOVED to surf) Lord. I thought I was going to kill her after
that trip. Several months later she actually got fully into the sport and
would often ask me if I would take her down our local river. Um...no.
But even with 8 years of WW Kayaking behind me I was glad to be on Class 2
for my first 2 boarding trips! It's really weird to be "in" the water
instead of "on" it. And surfing...well jeez, basically your head is in the
same place as the nose of your kayak--very strange feeling. I got over it
quick though and enjoyed the ride!
It's a bummer that this is such a new sport that there aren't too many
people to go with. I guess I'll hang with the kayakers for awhile until
boarding becomes more known!

A local priest and pastor stood by the side of the road holding
up a sign that said, "The End is Near! Turn yourself around now
before it's too late!"
They planned to hold up the sign to each passing car.
"Leave us alone you religious nuts!" yelled the first driver
as he sped by.
From around the curve they heard a big splash. "Do you think,"
said one clergy to the other, "we should just put up a sign
that says 'bridge out' instead?"
