There is a race on the Upper Yough on Saturday at 4:00 in Southern
Maryland. If you are comfortable on hard class IV and in good enough
shape to do five miles of continuous rapids, then email
dcmayhew@... for more info. Two of the boarders have a
lot of experience on the river and are willing to help anyone else
down and watch out for each other even though it is a race. Since
there are boaters racing as well, there will be a lot of safety
boaters with throw ropes. I'd be doing it if not for the seven hour
drive each way and a prior engagement at church on Sunday. Hope
someone can make this and increase the turnout and have a blast.
