but it is the responsibility of the promoter to insure a safe and fair show.the decisions made before,during,and after the show must be inline with your general rules.this has to be done thru the teching process..IT IS THE PROMOTERS JOB TO WEED OUT,FIND,AND DISQUALIFEY THOSE WHO BLATENTALLY CHEAT!!
and its the responsibility of the fairs to keep an eye on who they contract with..

im far from an expert on ALL the rules..but i do know the difference between a promoter who follows thier rules and a promoter where anything goes...you did NOT follow your own rules last yr!
example:
57 ford with f-450 leafs
74 ford wagon with a COIL TO LEAF conversion
imperials with plated frames..multiple spots..mine had 8ea. 8in plates
multiple cars with welded a-arms
brand new cars plated
no cars were ever cut open.......
I ONLY WENT TO SAC AND AUBURN....

I would have to agree with Troy with a couple points. One was I went to Sacremento with a car and was told I couldn't run... I sold the car and the driver brought it to Napa and he ran with no problems.. SAME CAR. In Aurburn there was a 57-58 I think Ford with a set of one ton Leaf springs in it that ruined Tim Lapoints Lincoln was that fair to Tim. The same people had a 74-75 ltd wagon with rear leafs...?? Thats the first 70's ford wagon with leafs I or even Ford has ever seen. You have to come up with a set of rules and stick with them. If you get caught cheating Head tech should DQ the car and his word should be final... Drivers/car builders know when the cheat and get caught they get dq'ed they know why but be fair across the board. As for Imperials that are a good car but there are others that are good Ban Imperials Lincolns with win. etc.. Alot of drivers are getting turned off from derbys and car counts will go down shows will drop down to 5-6 cars and the fairs will stop having them... There went our sport.

Well about 220-230am this morning some bastard wacked my car trailer in front of
the house....

pushed my trailer about 3 ft and broke the bracket that holds the tail
light...not to bad but it's the pricipalities! I just wish it would of beeen
hooked up to my truck so it would of been another 7500 lbs he could of tried to
push.

but.. the dumb ass left his inner fender well....blinker light....parts of his
bumper...air scoop there for the police to see.

I pulled the part number off the inner fender well and find out it's a 90-93
Honda Accord.

No pictures of the car yet, but I have an idea where it is.....so Im hoping to
post some pictures of this (220am = drunk) assholes F'd up car soon.

BUT If your driving around Napa and happen to see a smashed up car that fits the
description let me know..

RIGHT SIDE OF CAR WILL BE FUCKED UP GOOD!

Ya man! A good super hard hitting affair to say the least. No B.S., 27 cars, 5
trucks, and several assorted trailer/boat towing vehicles. Congrats to Brad
Gilmore, Wes Smock and Doug Emery for their wins. That derby should place all
the way down to 5th or 6th, mainly because of the efforts all of the drivers
gave in the main event. 24 cars made the main, and it was lights out from the
start to the finish. Thanks to Big Lewie Baumbauer for the opportunity to be a
tech official, we had a great time!!
