As I read the news reports, my mind is filled with varied emotions,
flashing images on a backdrop of great sadness.
After this series, I will miss the great excitement I felt as Dada
strode to the crease. I will miss the jubilations I shared with
millions of fans as he sent balls flying over the fences all around
the world. I will miss the celebrations as Dada took the ball and got
a crucial wicket when wickets were not falling for India.
And I will also miss the chagrin I felt when an odd stupid
commentators made stupid remarks about him. And the anger I shared
with innumerable Sourav-lovers when he used to be dropped out of the team.
I am not in a mood today to analyze whether his retirement at this
juncture is good for him, the team, the game. May be later, tomorrow,
some time I will start thinking about all that...
