it has been slow on grope page i will be doing some up grades to the
sled new and bigger pan #2000lb different weights for box #12000lb
self power slant 6 255hp auto trans new weight for sled will be
#30000lb to #35000lb
Hey ,sorry it took so long but here are a few pics of the old Pull
Frog,NOW known as the challenger sled we use at our events locally.
We moved the driver, drive and all controls to the back, built a
stronger/lower/wider weight box,reinforced the buckboards,replaced
the box stops front and rear with super stong ones, remade the whole
plate to frame pivot/hinge stronger and lowered the overall height of
the sled by 27 inches. We also made a drop plate setup and replaced
all cement weight we had with steel incased lead. It,s been a real
improvement and is a lot safer now.Cost us about 25,000 CAN dollars
to do it but it,s done right now for a lot of years to come. It,s
been slow on the ol sled group lately.COME-ON people lets see some
new stuff,I know it,s out there. Thanks for now, Randy from Canada.
Florida. Farm equipment. No tag.

If hauled on the road in Missouri, pulling sleds are classified as a "Special
Vehicle" & require no registration or license. But they are required to have
stop/turn & tail lights & if it's over a certain length, side lights, to help
prevent an accident. (It would probably be a nightmare if a sled was ever
rear-ended or had a collision from the side in heavy traffic.) We installed
hydraulic surge/towing brakes on our sled for easier stopping, too. But the best
&
safest way to haul any sled is on a good trailer.

Depends what state you are in, North Carolina law will allow it as a home
built utility trailer. You would go to your local DMV office and apply for a
home built title, they would assign you a VIN number and you would have to
stamp it on the trailer and bring it by for the DMV inspector to verify it,
then the state would send you a title in a couple of weeks. When you turned
in the application for a title to be issued they would let you purchase a
tag at that time. A trailer tag in NC is only $10. Just make sure your tow
vehicle tag has enough weight for the tow vehicle and the trailer.

Hi John. Basicaly stock, big stock and super stock for now. Garden
tractor pulling is just getting attention in the area but hopefully
it will grow. We have many interested folks.I'm tired of driving 150
to 400 miles just to hook to a sled a couple times and drive home.
Trying to get it going localy.
Our classes and rules are on Florida mini-tractor pulling group.
This will give you an idea of what we are looking for for now.
Thanks, Steve.

Lots of people say they can't afford a weight transfer sled. But if you look
around enough & get to know the right people, you'd be surprised how litte it
takes to build your own basic sled. This web site will help, too: Information
About Pulling Sleds & How To Build A Sled

Eh Randy here ,I was interested as to how you guy,s have the ground
wheel mounted on your sled .At our last pull we had one to try and
compare to the lazer. We had the wheel with shockdamper mounted just
in front of the drive diff and off about 3 inches from dead center.
It was pretty close for the slower machines ,but with the faster
machines it was out from 2-3 feet nearly every time compared to the
lazer measurer.I think we were getting alot of bouncing from the
wheel as it ran along the ground.I was thinking it would work better
in the wheel track, but than if you pulled the sled hard to the
opposet side that it,s mounted it would give a longer distance than
the same pull stopping straight.Would it work if it was mounted to
run against the drive tire??.Any info would be helpful. Thanks
