A little late, I know, but at least we got our results up... cough cough final omniums cough. Attached are spread sheets with all riders from Saturday and Sunday. Repeated names competed in two events and are billed $5 for the second. Some of the smaller schools may not have done team pay--just let me know that this is the case and I will confirm from my records.
Below are the totals for the weekend, copied from the Sunday file. Unfortunately we will not be able to combine payable and receivable check amounts from money the Wheelmen owe for team pay to other races this year, so please make checks out for the full amount even if we owe you for your race. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Please make checks payable to the Cal Poly Wheelmen and mail them

I hope the subject line grabbed your attention. You needn’t
worry, nothing is happening anytime soon, but we’re looking for some
opinion on this issue. Please read the story here: http://bit.ly/47GwZE and speak your mind via
the survey at the bottom.
As the article states, this isn’t a formal move on the
part of USAC or the Collegiate Board of Trustees, but it’s a topic we’ve
heard some complaints about and decided to play devil’s advocate with.

Hey everyone
Here's the excel spreadsheet with each schools' riders and entry fees.
This is NOT what you owe us. This is so you can get money back from
your school, have it on record, or whatever. Let me know if you have
any questions or find any mistakes.

Everyone,
Two other things about this weekend:
1. Yes, we will be having a barbecue. It will be held between the end of XC and
the beginning of Dual Slalom on Saturday.
2. No alcohol is allowed at the UCSB Cycling Cowpie Classic.

I've updated the conference website with UCSB's conference's flyer.

Everyone,
Here are a few important things to know about the upcoming conference
championship race hosted by UCSB:
1. There is collegiate and non-collegiate racing. The flyer for the collegiate
website is available on the WCCC Results page. The flyer for the non-collegiate
races is available at RideSB.com. Be aware that there are non-collegiate
categories only for XC and downhill, not Dual Slalom and Short Track. DS and
STXC are collegiate only.
2. The speed limit in the ranch is 15 MPH. It is an active cattle ranch and
there are cows everywhere. Please respect the speed limit.
3. People are welcome to shuttle the downhill course on Saturday and Sunday. You
are responsible for organizing your own shuttle in your own car. We will have
details about the shuttle route at the race.
4. As Hanns said in an earlier email, we will not be accepting team pay for this
race. We will only accept cash or check for any transactions at the ranch (race
entry fees, one day license sales, ranch entry fees.) The nearest ATM is 15
minutes to the south in Buellton.
5. There is a $10 per vehicle fee (cash or check only) for collegiate riders to
enter the ranch.
6. We'll probably be having a barbecue on Saturday, and it will probably be
free. Details to follow.
7. Finally, I'd like to emphasize our fire policy: no fires. Portable grills are
fine, but fire pits, barrel fires, or open flames of any kind are prohibited.
Feel free to email me with any questions, and I'll see you this weekend.

I have been majorly bummed about this as well and have been sending emails
to usacycling people about it (aside from the team letter I put together).
Remember that it helps to send them emails since it shows that it's an
important topic for us (as implied by their comment about having such a huge
response). I believe the email you want to use is
collegiaterules@...
Just because they published a "compromise" doesn't meant that we have to
accept it and stop sending them emails. If it's obvious that collegiate
cyclists want to be able to ride TTs on TT equipment I think they'll listen.
They have their hearts in the right place (at least, I'd like to believe it)

Holy crap, remember when biking was fun? Im forwarding this around
work. With the UCI considering taking individual pursuit out of the
Olympics and USA cycling taking the excitement out of the TTT ill be
left with none of my favorite events to care about. Geeking out about
time trialing and pursuit is what got me in to this business. Bummer.

Subject: Memo regarding 2010 Collegiate Cycling rule changes
Dear Conference Directors, team leaders and conference
members,
Wow. The Collegiate Board of Trustees is amazed with the
incredible amount of feedback we have received regarding the 2010 rule change
summary, in particular on the issue of aero equipment. The Board strives for
active involvement and engagement by our members, and we have received over
sixty pages of information both for and against the requirement for
mass-start-legal equipment. The Board of Trustees seriously considers all of
the material we receive with regards to the sport of Collegiate Cycling and
this time is no different.
With regards to the rule change legislation for 2010,
please see the updated Rule Change Summary at http://bit.ly/2X2XsL [1]. Due to
the timing of the rule publications, the nature of the rule in question, and
our desire to give teams adequate time to adjust to the new regulations, the
Board of Trustees has adjusted the timing of the implementation of the
regulations regarding mass-start-legal equipment in Collegiate Cycling Races as
follows:
For 2010, all "non-A" categories (B, C, D,
E) are required to adhere to the
requirements for mass-start-legal equipment in all
Collegiate Cycling Races
including individual and team time trials.
For 2011, all categories, including A, will be
required to use mass-start
equipment in all Collegiate Cycling Races including
individual and team time
trials.
Furthermore, we have identified two issues that warrant
change.
The first issue is with regards to the creation and
dissemination of the rule changes, the Board has made a top-to-bottom
evaluation of our processes. We have investigated other USA Cycling Trustee
methods and resolved to adopt an improved process of collecting potential rule
change legislation, disseminating a list of rules under consideration for
voting, and providing an opportunity to present your input to the Board for
consideration in its deliberations. This includes the following revision to
Rule 7B3(d):
7B3(d) Changes to the Rules. The Board of Trustees
considers changes to the
Rules twice per year; at road and mountain bike
nationals.
(i) To be considered, a proposed rule change must be
submitted prior to April
15th / September 15th to the Chairperson at
collegiaterules@... by
a Conference Director, acting on his or her own
behalf or on behalf of one or
more Riders or other individuals. To be considered,
each proposed rule change
must include (A) the affected section of the Rules;
(B) the language of the
rule as then in effect; (C) the proposed revision to
the rule; and (D) an
explanation of and justification for the proposed
rule change.
(ii) The Board of Trustees will endeavor to publish
the rule change proposals
that it has received and will be considering by April
30th / September 30th,
respectively.
(iii) Feedback from Riders and other individuals will
be accepted at
collegiaterules@... until the conclusion
of Collegiate Cycling
Road / Mountain Bike National Championship, and the
Board of Trustees will
debate and vote on all proposed rule changes
thereafter.
(iv) The Board of Trustees will endeavor to publish
the rule changes to each
Conference twice per year; however rules will not go
into effect until January
1st.
(v) The Board of Trustees will deliver to the
Collegiate Cycling Manager a
revised rulebook not later than December 31 for
internal review and
publication by USA Cycling.
The second issue involves reevaluating the structure of
the Board of Trustees. The Board was first formed in 2004, when Collegiate
Cycling became a full Association of USA Cycling. Recognizing that the sport
has matured considerably since then, we are examining increasing the size of
the Board to broaden representation and gain additional volunteer resources.
This will ensure that we continue to meet our significant obligations as a
Board of Trustees while providing adequate representation for all of our key
stakeholders. The Board endeavors to bring about these changes as soon as
practicable.
Thank you all for your understanding and continued
support of Collegiate Cycling.
Respectfully,
Mark Abramson
On behalf of USA Cycling Collegiate Board of Trustees

I have already been talking with UCSC and they have assured me they
will have a RR, Crit and TTT. Also the RR will not be the same road
course they have been using.

Typically UCSC has a RR, HCTT and a TTT. Just curious as we should be crowning a
criterium conference champ as well as a RR conference champ. .

Hi All,
This is just a reminder that conference championships has been moved
to this weekend November 14th and 15th and is being hosted by UCSB.
The conference website has been updated with a couple of changes to
UCSB's flyer. Also please note that UCSB will only be accepting cash
or check for race entry fees. They will NOT be accepting team pay.
So please plan accordingly. See you all this weekend!

Hey all,
Results from the past 2 race weekends are up. One small note is that
in the Stanford and UCSC races, the WC points are not printed in the
points matrix at the top of the page, but they are taken into account
for the team total. I will update my conversion program for next
year.
Please let me know of any errors so I can get it updated before
conference championships next weekend.
