Hey WCCC the Santa Barbara County has approached the UCSB Cycling
team about putting on our bike race in Isla Vista (our dream race).
We have not been able to do this in the recent past because we did
not have support from either the county or local businesses. But
with recent political changes we now have a great amount of support
from the county and hopefully the businesses.

The county literally wants to put on a huge event that would include
non collegiate races and even a cruiser crit, along with a street
fair. So this wouldn't be a small undertaking!!!

We really really want to get a jump on this so that we have plenty
of time to get this together.

Since a scheduling meeting has not even been scheduled yet we would
like to ask of the conference to give us the O.K. to take our usual
first weekend of March (March 4th & 5th). I know this is a lot to
ask, but this would be an absolute killer event, (there has even
been talk of a beer garden, I'm sure we are not the only school that
would enjoy this.)
