Job Description
The High School & Collegiate Cycling Manager is a
full-time salaried position within the USA Cycling Membership Department. The
main objective for this position is to grow the number of members, sanctioned
events and clubs in regards to high school and collegiate cycling. In
addition, this position is also responsible for creating more awareness of the
USA Cycling High School and Collegiate Cycling Program. This position is
based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage the Collegiate
Conference Directors (volunteer group).
* Ensure that all Collegiate
Conference Directors are kept current on all issues, processes and new programs
regarding high school and collegiate membership services.
* Manage and facilitate the annual
Collegiate Conference Director Summit.
* Work directly with the Membership
Department on high school and collegiate related issues, to include but not
limited to, collegiate clubs, promoters, events and licenses.
* Develop two "Plan of
Actions" for non-collegiate cycling schools and collegiate cycling schools
to facilitate growth.
* Work directly with road, track,
mountain bike and cyclocross promoters to increase the number of sanction high
school and collegiate events.
* Work directly with the National
Events Department regarding National Collegiate Events.
* Create and disseminate communication
and marketing pieces that promote high school and collegiate cycling with the
end goal of increasing these membership numbers.
* Develop and manage a high school
(juniors) web page and a collegiate web page that further markets and grows
these two entities.
* Be able to present to various boards
regarding the high school and collegiate programs.
* Be able to present at various
summits regarding the high school and collegiate programs.
* Oversee and manage all budget line
items as it relates to the programs.
* Be aware and provide feedback on any
proposed rule changes as it applies to high school and collegiate cycling.
* Work directly with the Results and
Rankings Manager and the IT Department on enhancing and growing the Collegiate
Cycling Results and Rankings Program.
* Develop, plan and oversee an annual
high school cycling summit.
* Develop, plan and oversee high
school national championship events.
* Other duties as assigned.
Educational and Qualifying Experience
* Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Strong writing and communication
skills.
* Ability to travel as needed.
* Knowledge of Windows based computer
systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel applications and mail software.
