The Waug recently returned home from competing at the Figure Olympia
contest in Las Vegas, NV.  While the judges overlooked her superior
lines and genetics, she still managed to be the most talked about
Olympian of the weekend. In a refreshing twist to the conventional
quarter turns, Val created quite a stir with her new graceful,
flowing, figure movements.  While most fans thoroughly enjoyed the
figure physique being presented in a new way, some "old school" people
who prefer to tow the IFBB company line were outspoken about it and
labeled it as "feeding the ego", or other false accusations. It's
created quite the stir on the message boards.  In any event, Val's
creative expression got people talking, and hopefully we'll see some
change in figure, which has become as boring as watching paint dry
(unless Val is in the contest).  She performs her "2 minute FIGURE
routine" at the West Palm Beach Pro Show this coming weekend.  Be on
the lookout for new Val photos from the O weekend here at the
Waugamaniacs group.

The Regal One was kind enough to put together her upcoming schedule
for the Waugamaniacs group, so that we can come out and support her
efforts whenever possible.  In an email received 6/30, here's how
she says her upcoming schedule is looking:

July 8th Valerie's CHAMP CAMP in my hometown Cleveland, OH at
Rezults Downtown Fitness.
-10am-4pm. a full day of helpful information on nutrition, exercise,
goal-setting, and intro to figure.

July 15th NPC Texas State Championships in Houston, TX
-I will be handing out trophies on stage

-I will have booth promoting some fitness tools that I use, my
restaurant Octane Cafe, and photos for sale.

August 19-20th Mind-Body-Spirit EXPO in Cleveland, OH at The Plain

-I will be doing a yoga dance performance with a group called Love-
in-Motion
-lots of cool vendors promoting yoga, reiki, bodywork, massage,
reflexology, aura imaging, and more with
feature speakers, mini-workshops, music, and lectures.

October 7-8th West Palm Pro Figure in West Palm, FL promoted by
Sophie Crompton
-I will be doing my first ever GUEST PERFORMANCE!
-I will also be very involved with promoting and helping out at the
show
-It takes place at a wonderfully intimate theatre in the City Place
entertainment complex

Yes.  Some of the girls, beautiful as they are, do not seem classy.  In
all her photo spreads Valerie appears classy and sexy, not ever
slutty.  She appears to be intelligent and has self-respect.  So often
the sport turns into a T and A contest....she raises the bar and
demands more of herself and in turn other contenders.

VERY well said, Heather.  Val is the epitome of class.  We've never
seen anyone like her in this industry. Ever. She's raising the bar.

I am so excited to see her win at Colorado.  I think Val is the epitome
of beauty and muscle and smarts....everything I have ever read about
her speaks to smarts, integrity and wisdom. And to see a figure girl
who is obviously natural, no steriods, and also no augmentation, is
great too.  She is a lovely role model for other competitors and also
