Next year = we lost 15 senior boys, we only have about 10 this year. Not as many but still enough to create pressure, competition for the top spots. Once again we will have 3 seniors who have been playing since freshman year but we dont have a Chase Raines who's been playing since 7th grade. Our women's program will continue to get stronger and I'm plotting another big recruitment push. It should be a good year.
Easterns - I agree it would be really cool. But individual schools, much less individual people do not host easterns. The application is made by a club - ie WAFC. I have brought the issue up at WAFC board meetings. They say the problem is all weather fields. If we are going to invite teams to fly from wisconsin or whatever we cannot cancel games because of rain. WAFC doesn't own its own fields, we have to borrow them from arlington and montgomery counties and they of course will not let us tear them up during the rain. So then we have to start looking at fields way out in Fredericksburg, etc in order to find an all weather option. Plus you generally have to apply 1.5 years in advance. This winter they are accepting applications for 2009.
Lemme know if you or any of your friends happen to have 12 + all weather fields at your disposal, cause I would definitely love to host such an event...

Hey Dave,
how's your summer been? So my summer league team just
played your '07/'08 varsity summer league team, and i
was wondering how you guys were looking for next year.
Also would you be interested in trying to get Easterns
to the DC area? I think it would be really cool. I
want to do it, but i couldn't do it alone.
