We have had several teams contact us since the organizational meeting. They are from far and wide (Baltimore to Fairfax to Anacostia). They have a similar range of experience levels and we are working to incorporate them. Our efforts to do so our delaying the release of the schedule. But since (weather cooperating) many teams will be starting action next Sunday we will release the schedule early this week.
If you are from Urbana, please contact me. I think you must be Evan's cousin or something cause he keeps putting you in drafts of the schedule but you haven't even sent me an email to let me know you exist.
If you are one of the other teams actively getting it together please communicate with me and we'll see how we can fit you in. Some teams may opt to start this week, some next week, some after spring break.
Whenever you start I, or a similar rep, will meet you at your field to recieve a big ole stack of WAIVERS. You should have one for each and every kid whom you plan to play. If I were you I would keep a copy for your team files in addition to the one you should hand in. The 200$ (which by now you should have sent to the Quantico Street adress on the waivers) is important but in comparison to the 2 million $ any random kid could sue us for its nothing. We need a SIGNED WAIVER from EVERYONE in order to operate this league.
Also my team is hosting a 2 day tourney March 24 - 25 with teams from all over the East. A North Carolina team dropped out and we have a spot open. My team told me to invite Blair who has been an establish competitor for years, but since they requested B division games this year I thought I would open it up to teams with a higher assessment of themselves. It will be a very competative 2 days of ultimate. Because you live here we will not have to host you so we will cut you a deal on the registration cost. Who is interested?
Speaking of tourneys following this message is some info on a great tourney that the Philly Area Disc Alliance puts on every year. They have 3 divisions and it would be totally worth the drive for you Maryland Schools.
In conclusion please finish whatever registration duties you have (WAIVERS, 200$, scheduling info to Evan, contacting me) so we can start concentrating on playing. It may even be warm enough to be pleasent this weekend....
