Our "spring" organizational meeting will happen on Monday Feb 12 instead of Tuesday Feb 13.
It will be from 7:30 to 9 pm at Bethesda Chevy Chase High school (BCC).
Directions can be found at:
http://www.mcps.k12.md.us/schools/bcchs/aboutbcc/transportation/index.html
We will get a room number to you when we have it.
Here's who should come
1) A teacher/sponsor from your school.
2) Your captain/organizer generally a senior
3) A junior who loves the game and will be an organizer next year
4) Nobody else. You are not allowed to fill up my meeting with a bunch of seniors unless you have 1 and 3 covered first. This is a republic, not a democracy
The focus here is on building knowledge, maintaining programs. If your delegation is a gaggle of seniors everything we talk about will be lost by next year. If we get some faculty and future leaders in there too we can build and sustain relationships. I know its a lot to ask of a teacher, I am an overworked teacher myself, but if anybody from your school were to get hurt at a game or program that teacher/sponsors going to need to know what the deal is paperwork, insurance wise.
Here's what your should bring
A school calendar, know when you spring break and band trip are,
A writing device
A check for 200$ to WAFC (unless you are well organized one player/sponsor will have to spring for this and then get everyone else to pay him/her back)
A design idea for new shirts or discs
(ideally it should fit the design specs of discraft: www.discraft.com/ulthotstamp.html)
We will not play frisbee at this meeting, do not wear cleats.
WE will discuss the scheduling of the season and the scheduling of games.
We will discuss the UPA championships and meet our regional coordinators.
We may discuss what sort of merchandize or promotional stuff we want to get.
We may discuss forming a seperate middle school league.
We may discuss genders ratios...
See you there,
Dave
