Hello and Happy 2007!

 

We at WAFC Jr are amped to provide another great year of DC area frisbee. 

 

Our organization continues to grow and thrive.  This year we look forward to a closer relationship with the UPA as Maryland and DC both have thier own state coordinator (UPA recognizes DC Statehood, can congress be far behind?).   Several new teams have contacted me in the off-season about joining.

 

I've been spending a lot of time in these supposedly cold winter months planning stuff for my team and I hope you are also starting to dust off the playbooks, putting another coat of varnish on the old disc and sharpening your cleats by the fire in preparation for the spring season ahead.

 

We need to have an organizational meeting to plan the spring season.  I arbitarily pick Feb 13th because I am the All-Powerful Commisioner and I can do that sort of thing.  If anybody has a huge problem with that lemme know and we can change that.  I study statistics on Thursday nights so it has to be Mon - Wed.

 

We need a place to host it.  I could do it here in VA but since so many of our schools are in MD I'd be willing to come to you if you can garuntee us a big class room to meet in.  Blair -- you seem like you're the easiest to get to from the Beltway -- can you do it?  If not can anybody else step up?  BCC? Magruder?

 

We also need to take an inventory of who we are expecting.  Email Brevin vanishingvirginian@... (our DC UPA coordinator who told me this week he'd be happy to help with anything) with the following information:

School description (high/middle, public/private, DC/VA/MD, what county, anything else important)

If you dont have an adult/sponsor at your school get one. If everyone on the team asks all their teachers you are sure to find someone willing to give it a try.
