as it says below this is the biggest ultimate tourney in our area of the fall, probably the most competative of the year.  If you and your team want to hlep out, watch some hot ultimate, and maybe fundraise this would be a great opportunity.

Lemme know,
Dave

Subject: Fund raising opportunity / Helping with Chesapeake Open tourney

Dave/Matt,
I'm one of organizers of the WAFC/CMUA Chesapeake Open (Aug 26-27) - this is the tourney that replaced Choptank.  The tourney takes place in Poolesville, MD on a polo field - basically out in the middle of no where.  We will be providing a dinner Saturday night, but other than that, teams are pretty much on there own for drinks/food during the day.  With nothing close by, there is an opportunity for someone to sell Gatorade, Powerbars, etc.  We were thinking about asking groups like the Boy Scouts, but I wanted to check with you guys first to see if there were any high school teams interested in doing something.  It probably wouldn't be a huge money maker, but probably more fun than a car wash, etc.

Another option may be having a team assume responsibility for some task (e.g. water delivery throughout the tourney).  In exchange, we could list the team in the program, etc. and then encourage players to make a donation to the high school's ultimate program (tip jar concept).  Just throwing out ideas here.

Although only in its second year, this tourney has a stellar mix of teams (I think there will be around 15 nationals teams playing), so it's also a great opportunity for younger players to see high level ultimate.  Once it gets a little closer, it would be worth sending an announcement to the high school players.
