G Prep is one of 5 new schools expressing interest in playing
That's great news for the growth of ultimate here in the DC area. But
it creates for us some interesting questions.

1) Two of our cornerstone teams have not yet replied: Wilson and
Montgomery Blair. Should we hold spots for them? (Opie and NAte of
Wilson started the league, they moderate this page). If the 2 of
them join that puts us up to 13.


2) How big do we want to get? Last year we were 8 teams. 12
seems like a reasonable number for this year to me. Do we think we
can sustain 16 teams? Do you know of others we could get tin order
to reach 16.


3) If we don't get bigger and both those teams want back in how
do we choose? Do we encourage smaller progams to merge?


4) Where can we play? Silgo last year was great BUT WE DON'T
HAVE ANY GAURUNTEE OF IT AGAIN THIS YEAR. I've emailed the powers
that be of WAFC but we can't just take them for granted. Can we get
fields from out Athletic directors? How many of our schools even have
decent fields?

5) WetnWild18 has posted several messages on our group site but
it's not clear this person even has a team, or what school they
belong to. Some sort of internet based photography institute it
appears; should we count them as a regular high school team?

6) Even if we get Silgo, and even if we limit ourselves to 12
teams, when do we want to play. Last year with 8 we went from 10am
to 2pm, with an hour of skills clinic in between. Do we think we can
wake high school students up even earlier on the weekends, how late
into Sunday pm can homework burdened high school kids work? Do we
want to sacrifice some skills work and squeeze in another game in
between our old times?

7) Number 5 was a joke in case you didn't get it.

8) We should probably have a meeting to sort all this out rather
than try to dialogue here online. We could use my school room in VA
but on account of there being so many MD schools maybe we should meet
more centrally. Any of the DC schools have decent parking and want
to host a 7:30pm meeting? Wed or Thurs of next week?
