The JKF Wadokai Technical committee appointed Dr Hideho Takagi, 8th
dan Wadokai, 8th dan JKF, as the new chairman of the JKF Wadokai
Technical committee. Dr Takagi previously served as a member of the
technical committee and as the head of JKF Wadokai Tokyo Technical
committee.
He currently serves as a member of the dan examination board for the
Japan Karate Federation.

Japan Karate Federation is a separate entity from JKF Wadokai.
Japan Karate Federation (JKF) is the governing body for karate in
Japan. It is made up of different style groups of which JKF Wadokai
is just one.
You earn rank in your own style group but you can also get rank from
JKF. These are separate things. For example, Toru Arakawa has a
7th dan from JKF Wadokai but he has an 8th dan from JKF. Earning an
8th dan from JKF is far more prestigious than earning one from your
style group. (translation: difficult).
