All,
Well we did it. It wasn't pretty or quick but we did it. I need the send out
a huge shout-out to All of the kids that showed up and pitched in. I know it
was frustrating waiting for word about what was going on and plans to move
the equipment. Those that were able to stay and help didn't leave until
about 10:00-10:30pm.
Thank you to Bev Buxton, Ruth Seivers, David Herring and Gerry Shannon who
stayed and made sure our kids got down to the boathouse and back safely. Bev
Buxton was there until the end and it was a very long night for us all.
Thanks also needs to go out to Bob Schneider, PBC President, who lent a hand
to help move boats out and onto the trailer.
I also need to thank the Arlington County Equipment Division for being so
helpful. They made room and then helped us secure our boats in one of the
work bays so our boats would have shelter to weather the storm. They deserve
our thanks.
We have done everything we can to make sure our investments are taken care
of. Good luck to us all. Let's hope we all get through this next 24 hours
together and all in one piece. Please be ready, maybe Monday or as soon as
possible, to assemble to put the equipment back in the boathouse. I will be
in touch as to the plans form from this point. But please except my
gratitude. I slept much better knowing we have a great time that when called
upon can move any obstacle that presents itself.
Derek
