RE: [w-lcrewboosters] Start of the season

All,

Sorry about the short notice.

There will be an all hands Mulch Madness meeting tomorrow at W-L at Sarah Harrick's room at 3pm.  We need a serious push for mulch sales over the next two weeks.  Please alert any and all team members and coaches know who may not be on this list serv.

Thanks,

George Allen

Subject: [w-lcrewboosters] Start of the season

Hello All,

The start of the season is coming up quickly. Our first practice will be the
19th. This is a holiday and there will be no county transportation.

It is not too early to start thinking about what we need to get done.

First - Everyone needs a physical on file with the trainer. You need to give
your coach a pink slip or you will not go on the water.

Second - Be ready for the cold. Think layers. Think warm. Think that you
will need more clothes then you think you will. Hats and cloves are not out
of the question. If you have extra clothes...when you come off the water
wet...you will have something to change into and be warm.

Third - Be ready. Once we start going down to the boathouse we will need you
all every day. Making sure you know any breaks in your schedule will help us
not slow down trying to deal with a rower we expect to be there but isn't.
Homework, taking tests or projects all need to be kept up to date so you
don't miss practice to get caught up

Forth - Recruit - We need new rowers. We are only as strong as those on the
team. Please talk to everyone you think would benefit from our sport and
that we would benefit from working with. This sport is hard and it does take
a lot to participate at a high level. Don't sell it as something it's not.
What I would say about it is they will get everyone out of it that they put
into it and if they give 100% they will race as often and at the highest
level they can.

Just some things to think about. We have less then a week and a half before
the start of the season. I'm looking forward to see you all very soon.

Derek
