Hey, all.

We're really closing in on the start of Fall League '08.  I'm pretty jazzed about registration.  We're fairly close to having a full compliment of women on each team.  I know some of you distance runners might not be as jazzed as I am.  But, remember, league is a great opportunity to share your love of ultimate with new folks.  And, it's an opportunity to help grow VOTS, the organization that brings you league, supports the local competitive teams, and hosts New Year Fest.

 

So, with that being said, I'd like to mention a couple other things about Fall League '08.

 

1. If you have indicated on your registration that you will not be playing in Playoffs/Finals, then you won't be allowed to play in those games.  There will be no exceptions.  If you do, your team will forfeit those games.  So, if you'd like to modify what games you'll likely miss, specifically Playoffs and Final, then now would be a great time to do so.  Wednesday noon will be the cutoff for those changes.

 

2. New player clinics.  There are two new-player clinics on Tuesday and Thursday of this week.  See http://www.vots.org for additional info.  Both clinics are from 8-10pm.  This is an excellent opportunity to get a feel for the rules, basic strategy and learn basic skills in a chill, non-competitive environment.  Depending on turn-out, we're looking for folks to help introduce newbies to the game.

 

3. Wait list.  You'd be amazed at how quickly people's schedules change.  If you'd like to be put on the wait list for either Tuesday or Thursday, send an email to me with the appropriate information, regarding Height, Shirt Size, Skill (1-6), Experience (1-5), and Athleticism (1-4) and any games you might miss.  If something opens up, we will place you.  Expect notification, either way, by the end of the week.

 

4. Baggage.  I just can't stop talking about Baggage.  Ok, so again, keep your expectations low.  Also, if you requested multiple people as baggage, I can only assume that you were making an all or nothing sort of request.  So, unless I hear from you on something specific, I'm going with nothing.
