Dear BUGs,
The Cycling Promotion Fund sent out a Media Release this morning: World
Environment Day The smart way to save the world and motoring costs; ride a
bicycle. It encourages motorists to dust the cobwebs off their bicycles and
reduce their driving by 10 per cent as money-saving contribution to World
Environment Day.
Rosemarie, the Program Director has already had five interviews about it, so
it's obviously a hot topic.
We'd like to encourage you to issue your own press release or write a
letter. It would be a good chance to publicise your BUG and cycling in your
area. You may like to invite new riders to a meeting to inspire them, or on
a ride aimed at beginners. I'm sure you have some ideas of your own, but
feel free to take a look and use some of the facts contained within our
media release. This link takes you to the News Item on our new website:
http://www.cyclingpromotion.com.au/content/view/166/9/.
While you're there, take a look at the People to Ride With section and check
your listing. (Please note there's a bug there at the moment when searching
for BUGs and clubs - you can't check under activity type, only by postcode).
If you're not there, feel free to add your BUG or Club. If the details are
incorrect please let me know at this email address and I'll change them for
you.
If your media release is successful, please let us know. We love to see
positive cycling stories in the mainstream media!
Happy cycling,
Kathy Brunning
