Hi Chris & all,
for those who don't know, the Cycling Promotion Fund is a national organisation, and I can say BV isn't alone - Bicycle NSW have even taken their BUG listings off their website! I'm trying to compile a database of all BUGs and cycling clubs nationally, although this may be redundant once our new website goes live.
If you haven't already done so, and you would like your BUG and/or club included on the soon to be released Cycling Promotion website, please send me an email: cfund@... (or phone 03 9818 5400). State wide searches of BUGs and clubs can be done, either via postcode (with a 50km radius) or by activity type. The activity options are: Sporting, Touring, Social Rides, Over 50's, Triathlon, Road Cycling, BMX, Mountain Biking, Advocacy and Training. We've asked BUGs and clubs to advise:
* 1. BUG/Club name
2. Address
*3. Postcode that best represents the BUG/Club
4. Contact Name
5. Phone Number
*6. Email address
7. Web Address
(The ones with an * are required fields)
Apart from also marking BUG/Club activities, there is an option for some extra information (100 words maximum). It could be a description of the BUG, a media release, details of an upcoming meeting or ride, a campaign win - whatever you like, including hyperlinks and small photos. The only thing I ask is that it isn't offensive - I'll be the moderator so you will hear from me if I think it is.
BUGs and clubs will maintain their own listings and in an attempt to keep information current, will receive a 'nag' email if they don't at least log in every 90 days.
Feel free to send me some details - the site will be going live on Anzac Day. We'd love to have heaps of BUGs and clubs there in the first instance.
Back to your list, Chris, I know some more. I'll send you a separate email later this afternoon.
Happy cycling,
Kathy Brunning

Hi all,
Brief introduction time ... I'm Chris and I help out
with YarraBUG and a diverse array of bicycle groups.
Just over two years ago I though, hrmmm, why not set
up a yahoogroup/newsgroup for BUG's so we could
communicate & network with each other. And two years
later, VicBUGChat is kicking over nicely. Any
suggestions or ideas you have regarding the group are
most welcome.
Just been doing some housework on our website and must
ask, are the details listed below correct? Do you know
of further BUGs and related links/contacts?
Victorian BUG Contacts:

Recalling a online conversation from a while ago,
Bicycle Victoria previously to have direct BUG links
on one their webpages. Currently there's a pdf which
really isn't useful or easy to access BUG information.
Should we request that BV design a page with
information that's easier for public access?
In further bike-themed news, a couple of weekends ago
Charlie and Paul Farren held a open day of their
fantastic bicycle collection in Richmond. And also
during that same week there was a friendly informal
Bicycle User Group gathering in the city.
So, why not combine the two!
You are warmly invited along to the Farren Bicycle
Collection + Mountain Goat Brewery on Friday 5th May.
6pm - 131 Brighton Street, Richmond (Melways 58
F1)Come along, mingle with fellow cyclists, and view
the amazing vintage bicycles & tricycles collection.
Later during the evening we can adjourn to the
Mountain Goat Brewery (cnr of River & Clarke St,
Richmond)Goat Management allows your trusty bike to be
parked inside the premises & the doorbloke is very
nice.
Have a enjoyable & safe Easter,
Chris ;)
