Oh come on Dave, that was child's play, besides, Bruce, Ed and I already
have a drill worked out for the Saturday morning beginners class to
teach this exact technique.  Surely if a Knighted member of British
society thinks it's worth it, shouldn't we.



On second thought, the track record of many "knighted members of British
society" is not that great, so we will hold off on the beginner
instruction.

The LONDON OLYMPIC GAMES are coming this summer.  One major highlight is the
TEAM PURSUIT race for GOLD.

Well, the MBRA and the IVBP are announcing a MICHIGAN TEAM PURSUIT CHALLENGE.

The CadiuexBicycleClub/O2 started the challenge and is creating 2 Pursuit teams.
The Wolverine Sports Club has responded by creating 2 Pursuit teams.  Two
categories: A Teams = cat 1,2,3    AA Teams = 3,4,5,Wo,Jr

Dear Michigan Clubs: Join in the Olympic Spirit and create your own 4 Rider
Pursuit Team.

Bikes, Coaching and Track Time is available.
Practice event held during the Individual Time Trial State Championships on July
7th.

Hi, I have 2 track bikes for sale.

One is a 58cm KHS with an aluminum frame, steel fork, Sugino 75 crankset,
Thompson seatpost, Salsa stam, Selle Itali Flite saddle, and Bontrager Aero
Track wheels. The wheels are barely used and worth $450 brand new.

The other is also a KHS with a Reynolds chromoly steel frame and fork, Sugino 75
crankset, carbon seatpost, and wheels from a Felt track bike. No saddle on this
one.

I'll also include a few extra front chainrings and rear cogs.

I'm asking $550 for the aluminum bike and $450 for the steel one.

Hello everyone,

Just visited IVBP Ambassador Gene Diggs who had quad-bypass heart surgery
yesterday. Operation a success, a little rough nite last night, but nurse told
me he was doing quite well now.  He was sitting in a chair hooked up with a ton
of tubes but was talking clearly, without pain. He was feeling his feet again
which is a very good sign. Prior to operation he couldn't feel his feet. Most
likely a week more in Beaumont Troy hospital. He thanked everyone for their good
wishes.

The LAST CHANCE to get WSC track team clothing at the wolverine banquet. I will
be at the banquet Sat. to accept track team clothing orders. Bring the form and
your check. I will have some forms and jersey sizing samples s thru xl
available. Also you can see the carbon design on the samples. This is  the
LAST CHANCE TO ORDER, production will start the week of 4-23-12.



 Also the deadline to order helmets is extended to MAY 14 th. They will be a
seperate order from the clothing. These are very nice helmets at a very nice
price. This is a louis garneau-Quartz helmet the color is white and there will
be red WOLVERINE lettering on both sides.  T he sizes are S, M, L. The MSRP is

hauled to the dumpster, move dirt to fill in under the front straight, dig out

IVBP NEWS: Lots got done yesterday at the IVBP. Coated aircraft cable around the
top of the turns for added safety. Thanks Cale and Cody Denison for climbing up
the steep turns. Thank you Carolyn Wells for bringing in professional garden
workers to mine the beds - you looked fantastic in your gardening hat. And
thanks too a host of others who did spring cleaning around the perimeter of the
track.
We have scheduled one last WORK DAY for NEXT SATURDAY.
The IVBP officially opens saturday May 5th.  But season pass holders can ride
all this week too.

		 The International Velodrome at Bloomer Park, Rochester, Michigan, is proud to
announce the 4th year of this unique event. This is one of the only vintage
track and road show and swaps in the USA that meets inside an active track where
attendees can also get out and ride ...(on their own vintage bikes or a loaner
provided by the track).

		 The Americane' Vintage Track & Road Bike Festival is a show and swap meet,
bringing together vintage track and road cycling enthusiasts from around the
country. Vintage bikes in multiple categories are invited, covering a full
century of cycling. The swap meet will feature amazing collections of vintage
equipment, giving browsers and enthusiasts a chance to connect over cycling gear
of every kind. Look for that one-of-a-kind part at The Americane'!

		 This event coincides with the State Individual Time Trial Championships this
year on Saturday, June 30th.

		 (Very) Tentative Schedule of Events:

		 9:30AM: Americane' setup begins
		 10:00AM: Velodrome opens – swap meet officially begins
		 10:00AM: “Track 101” class start. Mandatory for beginners, or as a
refresher class for those who haven't recently ridden a steep-banked track.
Depending on turnout, this class may be repeated. Loaner bikes are available.
		 12:00PM: Show bikes should be in place and tagged - judging begins
		 2:00PM: Americane' Show results & awards ceremony
		 3:00PM: Vintage track riding & events (by availability and skill of
participants)

		 Costs:
		 Swap meet and show are FREE for display, vendors and viewers. Donations (via
jars on the main registration table) help make the event possible and are shared
with the IVBP for their nonprofit Velodrome Fund (responsible for track
maintenance & operational expenses).

		 Track riding is FREE (special for this annual event)
		 Bike rental is $5 (½ the normal price)

Hey guys,

This Saturday I've set up an interview with a guy who's doing podcasts
about MI racing. He'll be interviewing me about the West Branch Race that
I'm putting on this year, but we're doing the interview at the IVBP. After
he's done with my interview I was hoping to get a few of our riders on his
show too. He doesn't know much about the track, so I was hoping to get a
few of the experienced riders to talk about how awesome it is, and a few of
the kids to talk about how 1)awesome it is, and 2) about how anyone can do
it.

So I hope to see you at the track this Saturday. We're meeting at 1pm.

The season at the International Velodrome at Bloomer Park kicks
off Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10:00 with the first New Rider Introduction class.
As in previous years, the class and bike rental is free for first time riders.

Returning riders – Please fill out and sign a new release
for the year. Junior riders must have a parent or guardian sign.

Annual passes for track time are for sale for $150. Otherwise,
track time is $20 per day. Bike rental $10 per day and is separate from the
track
time. Like last year, junior riders (racing age 18 and under) get free track
time and rental all year.

We are expecting a great season this year. See you at the

IVBP 2012 Regular Weekly Schedule Saturday May 5th is opening day with a "Track
101 Class" at 10:00 a.m. and the start of our regular schedule. The velodrome is
available to ride by season pass holders, with their own "track" bicycle, as
weather permits, from 9:00 a.m. till � hour before Bloomer Park closes for the
day. Scheduled events take precedence. The velodrome is closed if it is wet.
Special practice days will be announced via the Velodrome's Yahoo Group.  Note:
The containers with the track bikes will be open just during the scheduled
events, not during open riding unless scheduled in advance.
