ATRA just posted their National Championship Series calendar today. In addition
to a local stop for the UIV/IVBP 3 Day, there are some great races on the
calendar. I can't say enough about the benefit to your speed, experience, and
skills from racing on a variety of tracks against bigger and faster fields like
you'll find in this series.

It's been a while, but I remember the Bob Pfarr Memorial Points Race as 50km of
speed. And it doesn't take much of a memory to remember last summer's Roger
DeLanghe Trophy Race in Northbrook--I was happy I brought the 49 chainring
because the 48x14 I thought was a big gear turned out to not be enough in the
opening race on that fast, flat oval.

Hi guys.  I thought I was going to get back into kilo racing again, but I don't
think it's in the cards for me.

Description: Custom Yeti Time Trial / Kilo Bike

Same as that ridden by Pan Am Champ Rory O'Reilly in the 80's.  Only 6 of these
bikes were ever built - 4 of them went to a team time trial group in Southern
California, one to Rory, and this is the other - which was kept in unridden
condition by company founder John Parker at the Yeti factory since it was new.

2 bike were made by Yeti -John Parker and Frank The Welder (FTW) in Agoura for
Rory O'Reilly 1984 Olympian-(amazing guy) and 4 more for a 1989 team pursuit
team that got top 8 at Nationals in Seattle. We all eventually sold our bikes
this looks like one because of the bars..Rory O'Reilly's bars had smaller
diameter..they are upside down in this picture. Rory O'Reilly rode his a couple
more times at kilo nats and posted amazing times for his age. I also rode mine
in the points race with a bar in front to close off the cow horns, the USCF
officials had to let me start, it was not easy to ride in such a race...you can
read the web about other issues Rory O'Reilly had with measurements and USCF
officials..do a search. This bike was not used in any hour records, it was
designed for Kilo and was an amazing bike for that..originally is was specd was
with Hed discs and Bullseye white cranks. I have pictures of mine in action I
will scan someday.

I am a regular reader / lurker in the group, mostly just to keep up with the
cycling scene in Michigan. I apologize if this is is out of line. I have a 46 cm
Miyata 512 competition road bike with 700c x 25 rear, 24"x 1 front wheel that
would be an ideal entry level racer for a junior or shorter adult rider. This
was shown in the Miyata catalog as an entry level triathlon bike. information
about the bike can be found here

bike from a friend with the intention of harvesting parts for a recumbent I'm
building but if there is a dad with an aspiring racer out there this would be a
great bike for him or her. I know when my girls were getting into cycling I
would have been thrilled to find this. The bicycle was ridden VERY little and
has been stored in a dark basement since and is in nearly new condition. I'm
asking $200 for the bike. Bike is located in Monroe Mi. I have pictures
available if interested.
