Hello everyone,
It is nice to see Ed's email regarding the turn out of riders for the Wed Nite
Races. The purpose of these Nat Qual Races is to give you a comparison of your
times with those at a national level. But more importantly it gives you a time
to compare with the Winter Nat Qual Race in September. This gives you all
summer to increase your fitness and speed.
The Season Pass fee of $100. includes almost all race fees also. But your $100.
really is used for the Velodrome to purchase insurance and for matainence of the
velodrome. The Velodrome at Bloomer Park has the lowest operating costs of ALL
US velodromes.
We operate totally on volunteerism. So your entry fee is really your committment
to volunteer. Ed, Bruce, Gene, Craig are all volunteers - so you should HELP.
Good luck and good racing,
Dale Hughes
Velodrome at Bloomer Park
ps. I was in Beijing for the last week building a 250m x 7.5m outdoor velodrome
with huge canopy for the Disabled Person's Sports Complex. Unbelieveable
facility. Here in the US the total cost would surpass $7 million USD. The
velodrome uses the same system as ours. I am now in Frankfort, Germany for a
UCI Velodrome meeting - we are re-writing the UCI Velodrome Manual.
Remember: eyes up, hold your line, pedal thru the finish line.
