Next Monday, May 16, there will be NAS-TRACK hang
sling training in Royal Oak at 5:30.
Cullen Watkins will instruct everyone on how a hand
sling is done, but instead of doing it on the
velodrome itself, which might be a little intimidating
for someone, it will be done on Fourth Avenue in Royal
Oak. If you ever wanted to give it a try, now is your
chance!
Fourth is a two lane boulevard with very low traffic.
We should be able to go around and get in some good
uninterrupted training.
Meet and park at the west end of Fourth where it is
still a boulevard (east of downtown). Cullen will do
his parking lot talk to explain how it is done and
then we can head out and practice!
A fixed-gear bike is recommended, but not necessary.
Feel free to show up on your road bike. A mountain
bike will not work because of handelbar configuation,
i.e. you need drop bars.
We need to get this done in time for Cullen to help
lead the Monday night ride so if we begin at 5:30 we
should be done by 6:30 as his ride begins at 6:45.
Ciao,
Leonardo
