Light the Velodrome!
As we are in our third year of operation at the Velodrome at Bloomer Park,
it can be seen that more progress has been made then anyone could have
imagined back in June of 1997.
All that you see is a result of private contributions, community
volunteerism, and a strong commitment to the success of the track.
Through an anonymous donor last year, we received funds for 500 feet of
high-voltage electrical wire, telephone poles, a step-down transformer, and
installation costs. We now need to hook up to the track and light it up!
Our next phase of construction is for track lights to be installed in order
to extend our racing and training season. This will entail hookup of our
electrical mains, purchase and installation of a master electrical panel,
many feet of electrical conduct and wire, light poles, and the lights
themselves. All in all, we need to raise $8,000.
We are offering for a $100 contribution to affix a small plaque nameplate
to the guardrail of the infield. Please join us in making a $100
contribution and extend next year's season!
Of course, a $1,000 contribution would be greatly appreciated and you will
receive a brass plate imbedded brick in our Plaza of Appreciation.
