Hello everyone,
Below is our 2009 Track ScheduIe.
New for this year is our joining forces with the Michigan Bike Racing
Association. We have two races on the track that will gain points for riders in
the MBRA Point Series. We will also have our first 'Official State Track
Championships'.
Back again is our popular friday nite NAS-TRACK MADISON SERIES!
Also bigger and better will be the UIV/NAS-TRACK 3 DAY. Last year's 3 day was
UNBELIEVEALBE! So mark those dates on your calendar. Three riders who raced
our 3 Day traveled to Europe this year and had great results - Austin Carroll
won a 3 Day U23 Madison in Germany and Colby Pearce and Dan Holloway rode three
PRO 6 DAYS - Dortmund, Germany - Zuidlaren, Netherlands and Zurich,
Switzerland. In fact in Zurich they were recogrnized as the fans favorite team.
So our track is producing INTERNATIONAL RIDERS! I didn't mention Kacey
Manderfield going over to the Manchester Velodrome in England and racing well
during their famous Revolution Track Series also.
New this year will be a USA Cycling Madison Camp for riders from across the US.
This will be held during the day sessions while our DETROIT 6 DAY is going on at
nite.
Our fees for 2009 will be:
1.) Kid's 18 and under - FREE riding, FREE coaching, FREE bike equipement, FREE
spectatoring
2.) Adults first time ride is FREE with FREE bike equipement
3.) Season Pass is $100. for Michigan Riders.
4.) Season Pass is $250. for Out of State Riders.
5.) Visiting Riders for Races is $10. per day.
You should be training for our opening race. It is the MBRA "TALENT POOL" RACE.
This event will focus on preparing our riders for the kind of time trial that is
required to make the USA Cycling "TALENT POOL". On May 31, we will be hosing a
2000m time trial. It will have two times taken during the time trial - one time
at the 500m mark and again at the end of the 2000m mark. Points will be awarded
to riders who are competing in the MBRA Season Points Series.
So on your trainers - at least once a week - do a 2000m time trial. Take your
time at the 500m mark and at 2000m mark. Get ready, get set - GO!
See ya at the track in APRIL, we need your help in preparing the track for the
'09 season.

ps. An ANGEL has donated over $10,000. to the Mike Walden Velodrome Fund thru
the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester. A contract has been signed with
Harlan Electric to install the light poles as soon as the snow clears. The
electric service will be hooked up in april. This continues our totally donated
and totally volunteered success we call the INTERNATIONAL VELODROME at BLOOMER
PARK.
2009 WILL BE OUR BEST SEASON EVER!
