Hello everyone,
Here is what's happening:
1.) I met with City of RH planning department. We have been authorized to have
Harlan Electric get a permit to install a light pole with sports lights attached
at each end of the track.
Cost for pole installation approximately: $3,000.
2.) I have just signed an invoice to purchase eight 1,500watt sports lights from
Affordable Lighting.
Cost for lights approximately: $2,300.
3.) We have the funding for these two major items. Our next issue is control
board, circuit breakers, wiring, tubing, etc. Then of course the labor to
assist a certified electrican to hook up everything. After the poles are erected
then we must present the wiring plan to the City for approval.
I think we will have lights by early summer. The pole installation could happen
as soon as the end of april.
4.) I visited the track last week and was very pleased with the condition of our
surface panels after 7 winters. We have a few spots that need repair but
nothing too big. We do need to reinstall our black tubing curb at the top of
the surface. This along with reinstalling the infield tent, chairs, etc.
I will be going to the track this saturday at 11am to begin opening the track
for the 2008 season. If you can join me please do.
5.) Our 2008 brochure is at the graphic designer and will be sent to printer on
monday. They have a 7 day turn-around time. So distribution should begin in
about 10 days. Because of costs, instead of 3 individual printed pieces we are
doing one tri fold brochure. We are getting better every year.
Now a note to our riders - Who is going to be our NATIONAL CHAMPION for 2008?
