The U-12 boys and U-12 Girls are doing a pancake breakfast fundrasier on Saturday, March 14th! You can pay at the door (6 dollars per person), it runs from 8am to 10am at the Applebees in So Portland, in the Target Plaza. It is all you can eat, they serve only pancakes, coffee, oj and milk!

Brittney French (Velocity U17-U18, 2005-07 ) was named Bates
College 'Bobcat of the week" for the week of Sept 15th 2008.



Brittney French assumed the starting goalie position on the Bates
women's soccer team this year after the graduation of Nini
Spalding '08. She was put right to work in the Bobcats' season opener
on Saturday, a 2-1 loss in which the visiting Ephs launched 40 shots
toward French's goal.

French (Auburn, Maine) stopped 16 shots, the most saves by a Bates
goalie in over five years, helping to keep the game close against the
No. 1 ranked team in New England and the defending NESCAC champions. In
addition to leading the NESCAC in saves per game after one game, French
is sixth in save percentage (.889).

Congratulations to Alyssa Rondo ( Velocity U15-U18, 2003-07) for being selected as a member of the 2008 Hartwick College varsity soccer team. This is Alyssa's freshman year at Hartwick.

The 5th annual Latino Soccer championships will take place July 26th and the Grand Finale 8/2. Both days the events will run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Fitzpatrick field.

There will be food, music, and a free kids skill clinic presented by Soccermaine.

Congratulations to Darren Boynton for receiving his NSCAA Advanced National Coaching Diploma. The Advanced National Diploma is a 50-hour course. The curriculum includes team organization and training, advanced methodology, analysis and understanding systems of play, a focus on tactics within thirds of the field, technical position overviews, match analysis and the psychological aspect of coaching. Testing includes oral, written and practical (coaching) evaluations.
