Hi Everyone,
I thought I'd better fill you all in on everything that's gone on this last
few days with the vegan bodybuilding list. Adam, who used to run the list
has found that he no longer has the time to put into the project that it
deserves, so he's asked if I could take over the 'chair' & get the group
really buzzing! My names Pete & I run the Vegan Bodybuilding website (
www.veganbodybuilding.org ) which some of you may have visited before. I
live in Brighton in the UK. I'm not a huge geezer, but I'm hoping with all
your help I can get there given a bit of time & hard work!
I've decided that the best way to encourage the growth of the group is to
expand it to include not only vegan bodybuilders, but all types of vegan
strength athlete (powerlifters, Olympic lifters strongman (&women!)
contestants & those just into weight training for health. I also thought
that getting some 'experts' onboard might be a good idea for those wanting
to compete in the various fields of strength, so I've managed to get
competing Bodybuilder Robbie Hazeley (top 4 in the 2002 Mr Great Britain
Masters) onboard for any questions you might have about competing, posing &
other bodybuilding related queries, we are also fortunate to have got Pat
Reeves (VERY fortunate with her near death episode recently!) she is 12
times British Powerlifting champion, & nutritional therapist (also pretty
well versed in alternate therapies too!), finally (so far) I've managed to
get Robert Cheeke as owner of the US site Vegan Bodybuilder to help you with
any problems that are related to the US (as I come from the UK I don't know
much about the supplements, food additives, GM foods as they relate to that
country, so hopefully he'll be able to dive in & sort out any query) as well
as questions relating to competing in the US as a natural. I'm hoping that
more 'experts' will be joining as I only started running things this week &
have yet to hear from a lot of people asked.
What I'd like to get from the group is to get to know other vegan strength
trainers from around the world & also get a bit of help & advice about
training, diet & recovery now & again, also get that extra bit of motivation
of hearing about all your exploits in whichever field of strength training
your into.
So, that's me & what I want from the group, who are all you guys & gals? &
what do you want from the group? It's your group after all, so give me your
views (or just say hello) & we can see if we can all succeed in our goals to
get bigger &/or stronger & show the world some REAL vegan muscle!
Looking forward to hearing from you all,
Pete www.veganbodybuilding.org
Also if there are any 'teething' problems I think I better apologise in
advance as I've never run a group like this before, so let me know if
there's any problems & I'll try to sort them out ASAP.
