Hello all,
The SAC University Festival will take place
on this Friday (Sept 9) from 10am to 2pm.
Our table will be located at section "H",
in front of the Hart House.
Please refer to the attached
figure for the approximate location of
our table.
As for the uniforms, it is recommended that
you wear your karate gi. However, if this
is not possible, then we have a
limited amount of UTKC tshirts that
you could wear.
We need many volunteers for this
event! It'll be a great opportunity
for us to promote the UTKC
so I hope some of you can come
help out that day. If you can stay the
whole time that'd be great but
even if you can only spare an hour
or half an hour that'd help too.
For those who are volunteering,
please refer to the list shown below
to prepare for FAQ.
Thanks,
Hiro
----------------------------------FAQ----------------------------------
Q. I don't have any previous karate experience! Can I still join?
A. Yes. Beginners and experienced karate-ka are welcome.
Q. I don't have a uniform, do I need to buy one before I join?
A. No, you can come to class in track pants/shorts and a t-shirt.
You can then buy a uniform via the club or any local martial
arts store.
Q. I've practiced karate before, can I wear my current belt?
A. Wear your uniform and your white belt when you first come to class,
but also bring your current belt. Speak with our sensei and he
will determine which belt level you will train at
in this club.
Q. Do I need to take the instructional class before I join the club?
A. It is up to you. You will learn the same things if you join the club
directly. However,
you may feel more comfortable starting off with many other beginners.
Q. When is the best time to join the club?
A. The club trains year round so you can join at any time you wish.
You do not need to
join only at the beginning of a term.

Q. How much does it cost to join the club?
A. The first two weeks of the club are free!
Subsequently the cost is $50 paid to the
Athletic centre per term.

fee to Karate Ontario ($30 for kyu belts, $60 for black belts).
